We ran out of time to do our tree stem before break so we modified it and did it today.  The task was to design, build, and then redesign to make the tallest tree out of cups.  The tallest tree was 70 inches.  All of our groups were able to make modifications to their designs to make their trees taller.  This is considered a success!

We have been working on arrays.  Arrays are groups of objects organized in rows and columns.  Students created repeated addition sentences to find the total amount of objects in the arrays.  This is the precursor to learning multiplication because multiplication is repeated addition.  Check out the students learning blogs to see their arrays.
