Today Ms. Arendt’s students taught our class about volcanoes. We learned about tectonic plates, pressure, gases, magma, and lava. They showed the students how to make a volcano out of tinfoil, paper plate, paper cup, and tape. Then, using vinegar and baking soda the volcanoes exploded! Each student is taking home a kit to make a volcano at home. Thank you Ms. Arendt’s students. You guys did a fantastic job!
Our Mystery Reader this week came to us via Skype from Virginia. If you look really close you can see a pirate in the picture. One of the characters in the book was a pirate. This made it extra interactive. A special thanks to our Mystery Readers from across the country!
Boy do we have fun when we mystery Skype! Disguised in all the fun is actual learning. We work on our math, speaking and listening, digital literacy , social studies and our technology standards all at once.
