We started the day with a visit from Newmont’s geologists.

They did a fantastic job teaching the students about all the different types of fossils they would be finding.

We then headed up to fossil hill.

Lots and lots of fossils were collected.

We then went to the park to eat lunch and play.

We had a blast!

A huge thank you to our parents who helped out and the Newmont geologists.

Our butterflies have arrived! After our caterpillars hatched, we fed them oranges for a couples of days so that their wings could harden.  We then released them in the school flowerbeds.  Be watching your student’s blog for their videos about the lifecycle of our butterflies.

 

We were privileged to skype with author Scott Franson.  The students were able to ask him all sorts of questions about his book. We will definitely do this again!
