We learned about internet safety. Before we get on the internet we:
- ask parents or teachers first
- only talk to people you know
- stick to places that are “just right” for you
One way to keep kids safe at school when using the internet is with the use of QR codes. A QR code is generated using the URL by the teacher. The student then scans the QR code (picture of QR code at bottom of worksheet page- it looks like a grocery store bar code) using a free app. The QR code reader app then takes the student directly to the website. This ensures that they are not seeing unfiltered content or gaining access to websites unintentionally while using the internet.
